Revision Hip Replacement
While hip replacements are very successful surgeries for an overwhelming majority of patients, some patients have persistent pain or develop pain after surgery. Select patients may be a candidate for a redo or revision hip replacement.
There are many causes for a painful hip replacement including infection, instability, fractures around the implants, dislocations, component loosening, or failure of the components. Using advanced diagnostic techniques, Dr. Plummer helps each of his patients determine the cause of their pain after their joint replacement and educates them on their treatment options. If necessary, Dr. Plummer is also a trained expert in redoing or revising hip replacements.
